Other Activities

  • I teach and supervise at various community clinics and educational institutes including: PINC,* where I currently co-teach the Introduction to Community Psychoanalysis course to first-year candidates. I periodically teach at the Community Institute for Psychotherapy and California Institute of Integral Studies. I am also a regular instructor and supervisor at Access Institute, a community mental health training clinic in San Francisco where I myself trained and worked as a director from 2018- 2021.

  • I am a member of PINC’s Community Psychoanalysis Consortium (CPT&C), a “thinking space” that brings together various institutes, agencies, and individuals to consider the opportunities and complexities of working psychoanalytically in community settings. I alternate between working as a community consultant on various community site projects and serving on the Steering Committee for PINC’s CPT&C.

  • I was an adherence rater for *MAPS-sponsored clinical trials of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD.  This means I rated research-therapists on their adherence to standard protocol and best practices as part of the larger effort to demonstrate MDMA-assisted therapy’s safety and effectiveness to the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration). I continue to support and champion MAPS research.
